On September 19th, 2017, French President Macron presented the project of a Global Pact for the Environment at a side-event to UN General Assembly in New York. Less than three months after the presentation of the Global Pact in Paris (France) in the presence, among others, of President Macron, Ban Ki-Moon and Arnold Schwarzenegger, the President is true to his word given at this event to bring the Pact before the UN.
This side-event was the occasion for many chiefs of States to declare their support to the project of the Global Pact for the Environment. The pursuit of negotiations on the Pact will be decided by a UN General Assembly resolution during 2018.
