Onwards to 2021: One Pact to Build Back Better

The new year requires us to build back better. 2021 grants us the opportunity to mark a turning point in our relationship with our environment and to enshrine the environmental rights and duties of all.

Building Back Better: Making a Success of the June 2021 Meeting

The world of tomorrow is on the move. The post-Covid reconstruction provides a historic opportunity to make the transition to a more just and sustainable model. The UNEP emphasizes this in its latest report: a green recovery could cut 25 per cent off the greenhouse emissions expected in 2030.

In 2022, a declaration will be adopted to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1972 Stockholm Declaration. The 2022 Declaration can mark a decisive turning point in favor of the environment: it could be the occasion to enshrine the environmental rights and duties of all.

A new round of negotiations on this declaration will be held between States in June 2021. For this meeting to live up to expectations, it is necessary to mobilize civil society.

Save the Date: Launch of the Global Pact Coalition in February 2021

This is why we will very soon launch a great coalition of individuals, NGOs, celebrities and jurists: The Global Pact Coalition. Its purpose is to bring together all forces of good will in order to push State to recognize the environmental rights and duties of all.

The launch of this digital campaign is scheduled for February 17th. For nearly a month and a half, our teams will lay the groundwork on social media. Don’t forget to subscribe to our LinkedInTwitterFacebook, and Instagram accounts to make sure you don’t miss out!

As crises multiply and accumulate, it is becoming more and more obvious that the disordering of the world cannot continue. The time has come to recognize everyone’s right to live in a healthy environment, through a Global Pact for the Environment.
