Nairobi, Kenya The objective of these consultations is to prepare the Political Declaration on the Environment that should be adopted in 2022 pursuant to United Nations General Assembly resolution 73/333. The first of the three informal consultations of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) was held online from 21 to 23 July 2020.
The second informal consultation provides an opportunity to outline the wording of the next political declaration for the environment. It has been postponed to the summer of 2021 to ensure a face-to-face meeting.
